Ocean4Biotech – Association of International Marine Biotechnologists

Ocean4Biotech is the first professional association joining experts in marine biotechnology. We are creating a community of individuals that, regardless on their scientific background, level of seniority and origin are willing to collaborate together.

Who are we?

A not-for-profit association of anyone who is willing to collaborate and create new knowledge.

Why marine biotechnology?

Because the marine environment remains unexplored and unexploited, offering numerous solutions for new food, feed, biomedicine, materials and other solutions. To develop them and place them on market, a collaboration of many experts from different backgrounds (biology, chemistry, law, ethics, biotechnology, entrepreneurship, etc.) is necessary. What is in it for me?

We are offering 4 levels of involvement:

  • 1st level: free. You become a member of our »community« and you are not present on our website, with limited information on the collaboration opportunities. A great initial start point
  • 2nd level: 100 €/year. You become a full member, with your short presentation on our website and full access to information on potential collaborations, ideas for project proposals, calls for support in Ocean4Biotech activities and reduced fees for events, organized by Ocean4Biotech
  • 3rd level (for legal entities only): 1000 €/year, with all full rights as first 2nd level members
  • 4th level: 2500 €/year. Only for members that are already applying for funding with Ocean4Biotech but are waiting to obtain it. In the period when the idea is submitted for funding, such member does not pay, and the invoicing starts after the idea is granted for funding, fort he whole duration of any joint funding between Ocean4Biotech and the 4th level member.

Membership is payed at the beginning of every calendar year. When applying for membership after 1st July, the fees are reduced by 50% for the period between application and January next year.
